The 24 Hour Facebook Challenge starts with a friend from facebook making a video and drinking one shot and one beer, then right after that person finishes drinking they nominate three friends to do it also. If a friend doesn’t do it with 24 hours there are consequences of the person who made the video’s choice. I did a video then turned out to be a photoshoot as well. I’m not very fond of these “chain-reaction-type-things” but, I admit this one was fun!
Stephs Birthday, Joels Graduation Celebration, and Ericks Going Away Party.
Ben celebrated his 21st birthday with a bunch of the old high school / middle school buddies. Moonlight Lanes was the place to be. Since it was a semi throwback reunion, I thought of giving the pictures more of an “old-school” look. Plus the bowling alley was dark, allowing me to put up the iso; therefore the pictures consumed more grain. I used a flashgun in which vignette was naturally captured with almost every picture. The blur you see in the pictures was actually me having a hard time focusing in the dark. Although I had a hard time focusing in most of the pictures, I liked the blur in the pictures; it gave it more of a “first-person-view tipsy” look and plus it adds a little bit of suspense to the picture. People might not like this “artsy” look of mine, but in my opinion I think there’s a lot behind the pictures and keeps the viewer guessing on whats happening. One thing you can still see behind the blur for sure is how much fun were having.
Set Up: Nikon D7000, Nikon D90, 10.5 2.8 fisheye lens sb-800 flashgun.
Post Process: The edits of the pictures started with lowering the clarity, viberance, and the saturation. Curves, a little bit of blur were added, as well a little bit of grain. The finishing touch to the picture was adding a light overlay to give the picture more of that “old-school” / “polorid” appearance.
