Stargazing at the Lighthouse

Image

These pictures were taken at a lighthouse driving down the highway 1 with a couple of friends of mine. We stayed past magic hour and waited for the stars to show a bit more. Took the pictures at 30 secs. shutter speed, and f5 500iso. I also played around with the WB. Since it was a clear night the pictures came out shockingly clear.

Set-Up: Nikon D7000, 17-55mm f2.8 lens, & a sturdy tri-pod.

Post Process: I first cooled the temperature a bit and added bit of sharpening and clarity for the stars to be a bit more intense. After just added a bit more color and adjusted the curves.

The Bay Bridge

Image

This was at Treasure Island. Did a bit of “trespassing”, and finally found a destination I been trying to find every trip to San Fransisco. Unfortunately I had trouble with the long-exposure but, still ended up with a great shot.
Set-Up: Nikon D7000, 17-55mm f2.8 lens, & a sturdy tri-pod.
Post Process: Cooled the temperature, brighten shadows, sharpen, clarity, raised saturation, leveled, and small touch ups.

Garden of Eden Lake Hole

Image

This was an awesome and thrilling place to go to for the summer. I jumped of a approximately 30 ft. rock into the lake. Pretty scary at first, but the adrenaline really takes over sometimes.
Set Up: Nikon D7000
Post-Process: Raise saturation and vibrance, dodged the skin of the subjects, and fixed shadows.

Disneyland

Image

Took a LA trip this weekend with good company. Went to Disneyland obviously, and found a nice spot to camp in front of the castle for a bit until fireworks started. Waited an hour and thirty minutes for this spot in front of the castle… worth the wait! I was able to get it at the right timing when the fireworks shaped out like Mikey’s head.
Set-Up: D7000 & sturdy tripod
Post-Process: cropped, increased saturation, contrast, sharpness, a bit a gaussian blur with a screen overlay.

Nighttime at the Gates

Image

At the Golden Gate Brige it was getting dark and these were some random photos I decided to take. Since it was dark I shot up the ISO which allowed more noise in the picture. So at the same time I though of using a different picture setting/style. I wanted these pictures to be more “dream-like.”
Set Up: D7000 & sturdy Tri-pod
Post Process: Brighten pictures, white overlay, and sharpen.

This was yet another random day, and a few wrong exits led to this mountain. The unexpected usually turns out good, as of lately. I never been this close to being alined with the top of the bridge. The view was even too beautiful to leave right away; my friends and I stayed for an hour.
Set Up: Nikon D7000 & Sturdy Tripod
Post Process: Brighten picture & enhanced colors
