Stargazing at the Lighthouse

Image

These pictures were taken at a lighthouse driving down the highway 1 with a couple of friends of mine. We stayed past magic hour and waited for the stars to show a bit more. Took the pictures at 30 secs. shutter speed, and f5 500iso. I also played around with the WB. Since it was a clear night the pictures came out shockingly clear.

Set-Up: Nikon D7000, 17-55mm f2.8 lens, & a sturdy tri-pod.

Post Process: I first cooled the temperature a bit and added bit of sharpening and clarity for the stars to be a bit more intense. After just added a bit more color and adjusted the curves.

The Bay Bridge

Image

This was at Treasure Island. Did a bit of “trespassing”, and finally found a destination I been trying to find every trip to San Fransisco. Unfortunately I had trouble with the long-exposure but, still ended up with a great shot.
Set-Up: Nikon D7000, 17-55mm f2.8 lens, & a sturdy tri-pod.
Post Process: Cooled the temperature, brighten shadows, sharpen, clarity, raised saturation, leveled, and small touch ups.

Nighttime at the Gates

Image

At the Golden Gate Brige it was getting dark and these were some random photos I decided to take. Since it was dark I shot up the ISO which allowed more noise in the picture. So at the same time I though of using a different picture setting/style. I wanted these pictures to be more “dream-like.”
Set Up: D7000 & sturdy Tri-pod
Post Process: Brighten pictures, white overlay, and sharpen.

LACMA Museum

Image

This here was a trip down to L.A. One of my good friends brought me to this museum of art, (Lacma). Im sure you heard of it, if you haven’t I recommend you to check it out next time you come to L.A. It was unfortunate that when we made the trip there, we only had 40 minutes to venture through the museum before they closed. Although it was only 40 minutes I enjoyed every second of it.
